So, i need some help with my Sims 4 game.

● My EA folder is saved under my user's folder (User's/Public Documents/ Electronic Arts) instead of my regular Documents folder under 'This PC'. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and even made sure the install location of the game in the EA app was under my C-drive (C:\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\) and it was but my mods, and saves still happen to pop up in my User's folder.

● When I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, it generated a new EA and The Sims 4 folder but the folder didn't have any mods or saves folder, only folders like Data and Delta. I don't know how this happened. I've had this problem since the beginning of May all because I tried to fix the Gshade I tried to install into my game.

● I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. Please and thank you!

  • @Sweety-218  Not involving OneDrive actually makes things easier.  First, make sure there is in fact a Documents folder inside C:\Users\your username.  Create one if it's not there, labeled "Documents" exactly like that.  Next, use this guide to change the default location of Documents:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/operation-to-change-a-personal-folder-location-fails-in-windows-ffb95139-6dbb-821d-27ec-62c9aaccd720

To be clear, you're changing the "Personal" registry key to this:

    %USERPROFILE%\Documents

Again, exactly like that, no extra characters.

Don't change any other values you find in the registry.  This is a powerful tool, bypassing certain system protections, and the wrong change can have disastrous effects.  But following the Microsoft guide linked above should be fine as long as you do precisely what's described.

Once you've done that, restart your computer, launch Sims 4, and see whether it's using the correct folder.  If it is, then you can move your saves, mods, and everything else from the old folder to the new one.
