Social Event Tasks Won't Appear
Issue
When I have a party or send a sim on a date, the tasks needed to complete the social event successfully won't appear. The modal won't pop out of the side of the screen. I only have the option to end the event.
Without access to the event tasks, the event ultimately ends in failure, resulting in a plague of bad dates and disappointing birthday parties.

While their issue seems to have been resolved, nothing I try has worked.

Steps you took for Issue to occur
Moving into a new house, the neighbors greeting social event didn't work.
When I'm invited on a date.
I went to a birthday party.
Where does the bug occur ?
This happens across multiple households and lots and even multiple games.
I noticed the issue about 2 weeks ago, sometime after the update with Newcrest.
The bug was still there when I started a new game for testing purposes.
Mods/CC
I didn't have any game mods, but I did have some custom content. I removed the custom content but it did not correct the problem.
Expansion Packs/Game Packs/Stuff Packs
Christmas stuff, Outdoor, Get to Work, Spa Day
Occurring since
I took a break for a few months and there were several updates since the last time I played. However, it seems to have occurred after the Newcrest update.
Operating system
Windows 8.1 Pro
Processor; AMD FX-6100 Six Core Processor
Ram: 8 GB
System Type: 64-bit
Troubleshooting
Here's what I tried so far to fix the problem:
1. Uninstalled CC
2. Repaired game
3. Deleted localthumbcache.package
4. Disabled Origin in game
5. Copied all Sims 4 files to my desktop and created a new game for testing purposes
