[SOLVED] Teen Sim Getting "Feeling Trapped" from Noncommittal Trait

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.55.105.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except for Moschino
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure if it will work on your end, but try creating an adult sim, play him for a few hours, save the sim in the gallery, create a new save, move that sim (from the gallery) into the new world (new save, any town will do), modify the sim to a teen, check if any moodlets appear as a result of traits that are not owned by the sim at all.
What happens when the bug occurs? Modified my sim's age from Adult to Teen. He is getting the "Feeling Trapped" moodlet caused by the Noncommittal trait but this sim NEVER had that trait, even on my older save. IMPORTANT NOTE: The noncommittal trait shouldn't even appear for teens.
What do you expect to see? Not have any moodlet caused by a trait that my sim doesn't own.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I had this sim since 2016. I wanted this sim to be in a separate world where he will live out his teen days. So, saved the sim in the gallery, made a new save, then modified that sim from Adult to Teen.

@Nickelle19 There is/was a bug that left moodlets for old traits still be there. Since you aged the Sim down, it could have been that it's because of that bug.

They fixed a few issues related to the bug but I don't know if it can still happen or not but it may still be affecting old Sims.

I'm moving this to tech as it sounds solved for you.

Please also consider marking it as solved if you're happy with the answers.

  • @Nickelle19 Was the Sim originally in game born or created from scratch by you ?

Is he still in your gallery ? If so, what's the name ?
  • Hi,

Thanks for the response. Too bad I didn't see this sooner.

I somehow gave up on that sim and deleted him. Was about to make another one from scratch until I found out there was an "Include Custom Content" filter in the Library.

Saw the same sim I created back in 2016, turns out I didn't properly clean all my mods, no wonder he was still "Modded". I then used this sim to relive his teen life. The issue is gone, and solved, too.

Though I'm still curious why that sim was getting a moodlet that shouldn't appear in the first place, especially when he's a teen and noncommittal traits aren't available for teens.

    Thanks!

  • Hey @crinrict ,

I appreciate the information and your help.

It is certainly a bug, especially when you get moodlets generated by traits that were never there in the first place.

I'm still curious on how they'll fix that, since I googled the problem and found several simmers encountering something similar (for example, getting "Lovelorn" moodlets but their sims never had "Romantic" traits).

    Again, thanks.
