Starting Fresh

Hi!

If I uninstall my game, will I still have all my expansions packs that I have paid for? My game has been giving me trouble lately; I just don't want to lose everything I have paid for. Also, the EA folder, can I delete that when I uninstall my game?

  • ashjamise  Yes, you can delete the Electronic Arts folder in Documents, or the Sims 4 folder inside.

And again, the packs you've bought will be available any time you reinstall on any computer.  All you need to do is login to the same EA account as you've been using.

The folder where I would place mods? I just want to start fresh, I'm ok with losing stuff, I just wanted to make sure I can still have all the packs I bought.

  • ashjamise  There's also an Electronic Arts folder in C:\Program Files, but this folder contains the EA App and associated data, not anything directly related to Sims 4.  So don't delete it.  But if you don't want to preserve saves or other Sims 4 files, it's fine to delete the Electronic Arts folder in Documents.

  • ashjamise  Your packs/DLC are owned by your account, not your computer.  So you can install the game and the content you've bought as many times as you want, on as many computers as you want.

The Electronic Arts folder in Documents contains the Sims 4 folder that contains saves and other user files.  So if you don't care about any of that, go ahead and delete it.  You could instead put it aside though—the game won't read the contents if the folder is anywhere else, or if it has a different name.

If you mean a different EA folder, please list the one you're talking about as well as its location.
