I'm having a pretty similar issue, though mine just started yesterday. I get to the home screen just like you, then I click resume and it gets to the spinning pIumbob then crashes. I posted on another discussion (https://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-4-technical-issues-pc-en/cannot-get-game-to-load/12196997) yesterday where a few other people seem to be having similar issues and I've seen a few other threads about this too. I don't know what the fix is but I wanted to let you know you aren't the only one having the issue. Can I ask what your operating system is?

And my operating system is Windows 11 Pro.
