the be nice interaction is a known issue. You can click me too/comment here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-CD-Be-nice-to-interaction-not-working/m-p/6594049#M57280

as for the encourage breeding: This was a bug with adptoped pets which should be solved but the existing pets are still affected:

Also make sure your game is updated to the newest patch.
