The Sims 4 Gallery randomly disconnects even on fresh installs

Hello,

I’m experiencing a consistent issue where The Sims 4 Gallery becomes unavailable after the first game launch — even after a completely clean reinstall.

Steps I’ve taken:

  1. Uninstalled EA App and The Sims 4 completely
  2. 2. Removed all residual data (AppData, ProgramData, Documents)
    3. Created a brand new EA account and reinstalled the game
    4. Tested on different networks and changed DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4)
    5. Tried with no Tray, Saves, or Mods folders
    6. Used VPN (worked once, then failed again)
    7. Ran the game as administrator
    8. Confirmed that Gallery works fine on the Sims official online gallery site

In-game, after the first launch, the Gallery stops working and shows:
“You must be online to access this feature,”
even though EA App reports I’m online. One time I also received this in-game notification:
"EA App has been closed, some features are unavailable."

This feels like an EA-side bug or server sync issue, not a problem with my system or account. I would appreciate it if this could be investigated further.

Thank you.

  • Vexana111la  This is certainly not a common issue, and it sounds more like a leftover process is running or (more likely) that your security software is flagging some Gallery-related process and blocking it after the first use.  Reinstalling the game would restore any quarantined files and replace blocked ones with fresh copies.

Since the first possibility is easier to test though, does this happen if you restart your computer after accessing the Gallery?  I mean a real restart, not just shutdown/reboot.

Aside from that, what antivirus do you use, and does it list any recent actions that might be EA- or Sims 4-related?  Does it help to disable the AV before playing?  As long as you didn't do anything else at the same time, your computer would be safe, and you could reenable it after the test.
