The Sims 4 keeps crashing at loading screen

Hi, can anyone help me? Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Afer last update i tried to play the game, it loaded into main menu, but crashed after i tried to load my save.

At first, i tried repairing the game, deleted cache files, deleted save files, deleted and disabled all mods. Still nothing, the game kept crashing. So i decided to reinstall the game. I deleted all EA files from my PC and did completely fresh EA App and The Sims 4 install.

Now everytime i try to run this game it keeps crashing at loading screen, i can't even access game settings.

I read a lot of troubleshooting after last update, tried everything but nothing works ://

My specs:

NVidia RTX 4060 laptop GPU

Intel Core i9-13900HX

32GB RAM

Win 11

All drivers are updated, every other game runs perfectly fine.

If anyone knows the solution please help me :(

I haven't played this game in months and i really want to play it ://

  • Mine is doing the exact same, at first it was letting me load onto the game but wouldn’t let me play. Now I’ve done everything the forums have told me to do it won’t even let me load it up. Just keeping crashing.

  • Same. Loads okay but when I try to play my sim it just takes me back to the worlds screen. Had this issue after the previous update.

  • SAME here! My game will even randomly crash when my sims are traveling to another lot. Doesn't matter if it's by themselves, with own household members or with friends. Some lots cause the crash, others not. It seems random. My game is all updated, no mods either. Cleaning my saves doesn't help.

I fixed it! Turns out it was Windows security issue. I checked security history and found out that ''TS4_x64.exe'' was blocked by ''controlled folder access'' feature. Try disabling ''Controlled folder access'' in Windows Security. This feature blocks access to game folder, even The Sims app can't access it.

  • oscop1  Glad you figured it out.

CrazyTilly3331 TheOldGuy1965 AeliaM16Lake  If you still need help, please check your antivirus for recent Sims 4-related actions, and if necessary, set an exception for TS4_x64.exe.  If you're planning to try the Memory Boost feature (currently in beta and opt-in only), set an exception for TS4_x64_fpb.exe as well, since that's what runs the game in Memory Boost mode.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
