The Sims 4 keeps crashing at loading screens

The Sims 4 keeps crashing at loading screens when traveling or entering build mode. The game randomly crashes during loading screens, and I have tried several fixes without success. System & Setup: GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super (but an Intel UHD integrated GPU is also present), OS - Windows 11, Game Version - Latest (March 2025), Mods/CC - Removed for testing, DirectX Mode - Tried DX11 and DX9, both crash, Power Mode - Set to high performance. What I've tried so far: Forced The Sims 4 to use the NVIDIA GPU via Windows and NVIDIA Control Panel, repaired the game in EA App, cleared cache files including localthumbcache.package, increased virtual memory (pagefile), lowered graphics settings (shadows, reflections, view distance), ran the game without mods or CC, updated and reinstalled GPU drivers using DDU, installed The Sims 4 on a different SSD. Crash Logs & Observations: I checked my lastCrash.txt and it shows memory access violations and rendering errors. DirectX 11 and DirectX 9 both crash, so it is not just a DX11 issue. The game is running on my NVIDIA GPU, not the integrated Intel UHD Graphics. Other demanding games like Monster Hunter Wilds run fine without crashes. Does anyone have a solution or similar experiences? Any help would be appreciated.

  • nini0045  The Sims 4 crashes in your dxdiag look like the typical crashes related to high-end Intel processors that the motherboard may overclock by default.  This is sometimes fixed with a BIOS update, but it looks like you already have the newest version installed.  So please boot into BIOS and disable CPU Turbo Boost, which will be somewhere under Advanced settings.

Separately, are you getting BlueScreens while playing?  I see several in your dxdiag, two different kinds, but not ones that make it obvious exactly where the problem is.  (One has to do with accessing paged memory incorrectly, but that doesn't specify what process did so.)  I can try to help with these too if you want.  In that case, please open C:\Windows\Minidump and upload the most recent three or four files.  You'll need to copy them where they are, paste them onto your desktop (or wherever you prefer), zip them together, upload the .zip to a third-party filesharing site, and link it here.

  • I'm having the same issue all of a sudden. I have a Mac though.  I've tried repairing the game and restarting the game. So beyond frustrated. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
