the sims 4 minimizes during play

i got a virtual copy of the sims 4 and during game play it minimizes itself a lot which is very annoying. i do not have any anitvirus running or any programs. the game will play fine and saving is easy. is there a solution?

  • After some more fiddling around and searching the internet I fixed the problem. I didn't need to reinstall Origin or, and I had mentioned this in my previous post, change the resolution because there was nothing wrong with it (NVIDIA setting to native, checked ingame and in my Windows control panel).

My problem was that TPLink kept trying to change channels, this can be fixed as shown here.

If this doesn't solve the problem, it's worth paying a visit to Tom's hardware as there some people have had similar troubles. They adviced downloading Game Booster 3 which, if it doesn't help, is still a pretty useful tool.

  • I have the same problem. TS4 runs in the same resolution as my desktop config. I tried GameBooster (which worked for similar problems) but the problem keeps occuring. Here's the event:

That dll seems to be part of Origin.

Did you try reinstalling Origin ?

Also did you try setting the resolution of Windows to the same Sims 4 has ? You can edit the options.ini in documents\electronicarts\thesims4 to change it without starting the game.

So that's fairly helpful except the YouTube instructions don't really cover windows 10 because everything looks different for the task manager in the newer version. Any tips for that?
