Townies stop current interaction to Play Violin??

Not sure if this is a bug or what it is but it's strange and annoying when trying to gain influence points

Since the most recent patch and downloading Eco Lifestyle, when interacting with npcs, especially during group conversations and during a yard sale, just stop hat they're doing and start playing what appears to be a (blueish?) (white?) violin. Had this happen all in Evergreen Harbor and had happen about 5 or 6 times now. I have no CC or Mods installed.

I have restarted my game and it seems to have stopped. Not sure what they were doing. If it happens again i'll do that, thanks 🙂

Do you have any Mods or CC? If so move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game.

If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

I started having the same issue right after I installed Eco Lifestyle (not after the patch, it only started today after I installed Eco Lifestyle). It has happened twice now, once with a sim from a different played household who I know 1) can't play the violin 2) doesn't have a violin.

I do have Discover University installed, and that's what this reminded me of... But I've never seen Sims do this outside the dorms before.

    Hi @randomanimal514,

Thanks for calling out that there's no mods or CC. 🙂 Let's try this sequence of troubleshooting:

    1. Repair your game: To repair your game:
      1. Select My Game Library in Origin.
      2. Right-click on the game tile.
      3. Select Repair Game. We'll repair the game. Click on the spoiler tag to see the steps.
Keep in mind that the file check can take up to an hour to complete depending on your computer's hardware. After repairing the game, see if the uploading is still an issue.
    2. Make a Back-up: It's always good to have a back-up in case anything goes unexpectedly. To do this, head to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and copy the file. Paste it onto your desktop and you are ready to proceed with the next step.
    3. Uninstall, clear origin cacheagain and reinstall the game: Check out this guide on how to clear origin cache if you're unsure of those steps.
    4. Clean boot. This is thee next step, should the issue persist. We have an EA Help guide for this too called "How to clean or safe boot your PC or Mac" that will provide a step-by-step walk through of how to perform that.

Please let us know if those steps have helped you with this.
