@goldpinksky The way I did it was inspired by @LTasare: I uninstalled Sims in the EA App and then changed the language of the EA App to English (first step) before reinstalling Sims 4. But I do not know if this is necessary.
Subsequently: before I reinstalled Sims 4, I was asked for the language in which I want to install. There I selected English. I think when I still had the EA App set to German, there was no option to select another language. Not sure though. Maybe this will help.

@LiLa_YelLowX Thanks for the tips
I had the EA app in English from the beginning and still had only 3 languages to choose from.
I also contacted EA support. They couldn't help me. They raised some ticket and said to up vote similar issues on this website (which I obviously did😉)
I guess the only option I have left is to move back to Origin which I'll probably try soon.
