@BryonyRae I've removed my mods, cleared my cache, repaired my game, started saves many many times since I started to experience the bug. I went and set my lighting to the highest setting and it didn't change anything... except make the load times laggier. I have my sims and view distance to high, and all my other settings at medium. Lighting was temporarily set to very high to see if it would change anything and it didn't. I also have uncompressed sim textures and post processing effects checked.. This is what you meant by posting my in game graphic settings right?? I'm the worst at these bug reports so I apologize for anything I am doing wrong. I can say for sure that my graphics card is not currently updated but back when my world lighting was working properly, my graphics card was often out of date and the lighting worked fine. I know I should update it for the sake of this but... I don't know how to. I use a NVIDIA graphics card.. that's all I know about it. I usually play/build in all worlds and the lighting doesn't work properly in any of them. I feel I should mention that my graphics card was up to date until a few days ago and my lighting was still messed up.
@Ninnifer18 Yes, that covers most of the settings - you don't by any chance have Laptop mode checked, do you? That will definitely affect how lighting looks in the game. I changed my settings to mirror yours, and I am still seeing the appropriate lighting in my game. I too have an Nvidia graphics card, and updating it is pretty easy. I recommend going to their drivers page and downloading GeForce. It's an app that can detect your card and automatically select the correct driver updates for it; then you just choose to install them. I understand what you are saying regarding having this problem before when they were up to date, but it's something we definitely need to do before going further.

I don't have laptop mode on. I've only ever had it on once and it made my game run really wonky, even when I played on a laptop. I updated my graphics card, removed everything from my mods folder, cleared my cache, repaired the game, made a fresh save and the lighting still isn't fixed. I'm at a complete loss as to why I'm the only one that is having this bug. I swear I didn't change anything with my game or my computer that could have caused this, except install Seasons. Like... I was playing the sims4, and then my mother bought Seasons for me, I installed it, and then the lighting was different. Like.. it was literally the same day, I hadn't done anything. It's the most..mind-boggling bug I have ever experienced

@Ninnifer18 I'm fairly stumped on this too. One thing you might try, since you believe the change happened with Seasons, would be to uninstall the game and then reinstall it only up through the content pre-Seasons and then test to see if the lighting is correct again pre-Seasons. You will probably need to disable automatic game updates from Origin application settings, so that Origin won't automatically install everything. I'm going to move this thread to the technical forum, as I think you may be able to get more help there. I am not really a "techie" when it comes to hardware/application issues and interactions, but there are people there who are.

I was afraid you would suggest this... Honestly.. not only am I terrified of trying this, I also really don't want to deal with Origin's BS.. I don't know how to turn off automatic updates or anything and I don't know how I would even go about installing content individually. I've never uninstalled the sims4, I've only ever done fresh installs on new computers, and it's been awhile since I did that... I'm very concerned about my saves and my files in general. I get told to backup everything all the time but I honestly don't know how to do that either.
As much as it physically pains me to do so, I could try to uninstall the game and reinstall it, but I honestly have no idea how well it would work. In the past, with Sims4 and previous sims games, any time I have ever uninstalled and reinstalled a game, or done a fresh install, my game would always have the exact same bugs.. and a plethora of brand new bugs. I hope I don't sound like I'm just making up excuses to NOT do this, I do want my game to function properly.. but honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to these things and I'm scared that if I do go and spend hours doing this, it will all be for nothing. I wish I could just hand this off to someone who is more tech savvy than I am so you (and everyone else) could be working with someone more competent.
