TS4 Folder Works In desktop, instead of Documents, without CC

Hi, I'm totally new here, and new to the sims, for that matter, and don't really have much knowledge of how things work? I installed my CC properly, and  cannot get it to show up in the game, or even...

    @strasav  I've moved your post to the Sims 4 PC tech section.

    In order for mods and cc to work, they need to be located in the Sims 4 game folder that's in Documents\Electronic Arts.  When you move this folder to the desktop, you're taking everything inside that folder out of play.  The game doesn't find its folder, so it spawns a new one with no content.

    The fact that your game won't open with certain mods or cc files present means that one or more files in that particular batch is corrupt.  You can test by splitting the batch and trying to launch Sims 4 over and over; any batch that prevents the game from loading needs to be split and tested again until you've found the problem file(s).

    As for the cc and mods not showing, here's an excellent article that covers the basics:

I got it to work! So never-mind the above, but just in case, I deleted all my script mods (which is disappointing, but, at least I can play!), and most (if not all, i might have missed a few) items included with the script mods, if any are included.

This topic can be closed (if need be!)
