So, I recently just built my new PC, installed AVG, & Malwarebytes.
I installed The Sims 4, and I encounter an issue that I can't seem to fix myself.
Unable To Connect To EA Servers issue, not allowing me to load the game.
I've given permissions toa good portion of the files, and I've always turned off Firewall to see if that'd fix it.
NO LUCK.
Really, what should my next step from here be?
Can you try again to open your game ? It seems to be resolved.
I contacted support they said EA is having issues with their servers.... just gotta wait it out.
I was losing my mind trying to sort out this problem on my end. I finally caved and called ea just to discover the problem is on their end and that "they are working to fix it" but they said there is, as of yet, no update on how long it will take. ☹️
It's a bit poor....the servers have been down now for hours.
Do EA not have a backup system that kicks in when there's a problem? It's a lot poor if they haven't.
Have they tried turning it off and back on again - I give this advice free, as it was the best suggestion EA have ever given me. It didn't work, but as it seems to be their answer to everything, I was just wondering if that's what they've tried at their end.
Additionally, some information via Twitter, Facebook, their official site, even an owl carrying a message, would be helpful, let people know what's going on, how long it might be, how long it's been down, it would save a lot of questions. Even an announcement on this support forum, because a lot of people (and I mean a lot) will currently be thinking their game or installation is broken.
Why the big secret?
If you say "We hope to have it fixed in an hour" and it isn't, that's okay, but at the moment I have no idea whether to try in an hour, this evening, next weekend, 2021 sometime in July....
got 3 games but none of them work phoned 1 time and was just cut off after a while it was most rude looking at the phone in shock try to fix a problem pah just sort it out NOW I get no problems with other games I play.
I get that this is happening on multiple games, but it would be really good if EA could do a public announcement on what is going on and how long the fix should take... there are far too many people thinking the issue is on their end, and considering I pay a fortune for internet data it would have been nice to not have uninstalled/re-installed large game files unnecessarily! - $30 lost before I found these threads...
