@GlitterBlitzz I am on Mac and it was similar at what happened to me. Mine froze when I tried connecting to the gallery and it was really frustrating. I moved my Sims folder to the desktop because it had CC and Saves in that I won't get back and uninstall the sims and origin then I reinstalled it and it worked. If this works please let me know, I know it is a pain to uninstall and reinstall but for your game to work and access the gallery it is totally worth it.
P.S make sure to back up your current the sims 4 folder if you have things in there you want.

@PeachySimmss How do I uninstall it? I went to control panel > change or remove a program, but The Sims 4 wasn't counted as a program.

You can uninstall The Sim4 in Origin.
Origin/Library right-click on TS4- the option "uninstalling"- 6 years ago@kreatora It isn't in my Origin game library either.

@GlitterBlitzz
If you don't have TS4 in the Origin library, this is a serious error.Make sure there aren't any filters enabled in the library
