When my sims do actions with the +fame symbol, they don't gain fame points. I have tried disabling mods, making a new save file, and making new sims. I am still unable to gain fame points on any sim.
turns out i'm actually an idiot who didn't understand how the system works. whoops.
my game is totally fine and i'm going to die of embarrassment now.
This mechanic appears to be broken in my game. Pristine reputation. Highest career level. Never any fame points earned.
