Unable to run Sims 4 even after troubleshooting

Hello,

I cannot for the life of me get The Sims 4 to work. I get about 2-3 minutes in game before it crashes. I have the following troubleshooting steps to no avail:

  1. Repair the game in Origin.
  2. Update your GPU card driver.
  3. Update the network controller driver.
  4. Disable your antivirus.
  5. Check Mods in Sims 4.
  6. Reset Sims 4.
  7. Reinstall Sims 4 or the Origin client1

I have included my dxdiag. Can someone help me?

  • @RiverRaide2591  Thanks for the dxdiag, which lists a number of Sims 4 errors related to the Nvidia graphics driver.  Since you've already updated it, the next step is a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver.  Here's how:

If you get another crash after this, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash, specifically after reinstalling the graphics driver.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
