Unable to run Sims 4 even after troubleshooting
Hello,
I cannot for the life of me get The Sims 4 to work. I get about 2-3 minutes in game before it crashes. I have the following troubleshooting steps to no avail:
- Repair the game in Origin.
- Update your GPU card driver.
- Update the network controller driver.
- Disable your antivirus.
- Check Mods in Sims 4.
- Reset Sims 4.
- Reinstall Sims 4 or the Origin client1
I have included my dxdiag. Can someone help me?
@RiverRaide2591 Thanks for the dxdiag, which lists a number of Sims 4 errors related to the Nvidia graphics driver. Since you've already updated it, the next step is a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver. Here's how:
If you get another crash after this, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash, specifically after reinstalling the graphics driver. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
