Unflirty Sim being read as Romantic

It's exactly what it sounds like. I have a Sim who is Unflirty. Every so often he will get the emotion buff "Tense +1: Lovelorn (from Romantic trait)/ Romantic Sims need to show love and have it shown to them!"

He's not Romantic, he's the exact opposite. I've done everything: Turned mods completely off, removed and readded the trait, cleared the cache, even deleted and reinstalled the game (saving the tray files of course). He still gets this buff. It's very annoying to deal with. Anyone have any other fix ideas or is he stuck like this?

(Also very sorry for the tag but it forced me to tag before posting)

Based on your results, unfortunately, this may be a bug. Here is a bug report with the same symptoms:

Lovelorn Moodlet without romantic trait | EA Forums - 13411921

It may be merged into the relevant report in the future, so please vote when that happens.

Your description of Lovelorn is indeed for the Romantic trait. However, as one possibility, I checked your wolf's Temperament because I thought that the wolf's Frisky Temperament might have been mistakenly confused with the Romantic trait.

If you want to avoid disrupting gameplay, you could try rearranging the trait using cheats in Live Mode, not in CAS. This involves activating the Sim whose trait you want to change, setting TestingCheats to true, deleting it with 'traits.remove_trait', and then re-applying it with 'traits.equip_trait'. It's a bit cumbersome, but trait changes cannot be made correctly unless done this way. It's a good idea to create a backup of your current data before doing this. If something goes wrong, you can start over if you have the original data.

    I hope you enjoy playing.

Sorry this reply took a bit, I was busy.

I followed the guide to the letter and the issue still occured, on a new save file and without mods. I've also manually cleared cache, no luck. I think it might not be on my side.

Hmm. did you try to clean user folder approach? If you don't yet, please try it. It will take a little effort, but it's a sure step towards finding out what's wrong. Please be sure to test play without mods before reverting them back. This test is necessary to determine whether or not the mods effection.

Then, waiting to hear your result and your wolf sim's Temperament here. Good luck.

I made him from scratch in CAS -- not based on a gallery sim. He has the "Leader of the Pack" Aspiration and is an Active/Unflirty/Dog Lover. He did start out as Hotheaded, but I changed that to Active in CAS after I started playing. I never removed or changed Unflirty, or made him Romantic; he's always been Unflirty since his creation. I do have reward traits modded in, but I emptied my mods folder + disabled mods and CC just to be safe, and still encountered this issue.

(Also thank you for the tag info!)

Galaxbee33  Hi, how did you create the Sim who has issue? You create the Sim and give the traits, or download from gallery and change trait?

    - The minimum required tags are the platform you are playing on and the usage of the mod (never or removed).
