uninstall sims 4

Hi,

I recently installed The sims 4 on pc first steam then for some reason i was instructed to install EA app and install sims on the EA app. I did so. I have since finished playing and want to uninstall, uninstalled on steam just fine but for some reason whenever i click uninstall (sims 4) on the ea app nothing happens.

I have tried using revo and Sims 4 doesnt show up yet i am still able to launch the game from the ea app....

I have tried;

Uninstalling and re installing the app.

Clearing the cache

Reinstalling on steam to uninstall on EA first

I cannot find anyway of removing this from my pc....I am at the point where I feel I am going to have to use a restore point just to UNINSTALL this game....

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

  • @arronace  Try uninstalling with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine).  Make sure the EA App is closed and the EABackgroundService is NOT running in the Task Manager.  It's worth uninstalling the EA App with Revo too, which is more thorough than the standard uninstall process.

    Hey thanks for the quick response, sadly I have tried using Revo and The sims 4 Does not show up on the list despite it being launchable from the EA app.

    I have just tried again making sure the background service was not running but still no joy.

    @arronace  Then the best option here is to manually delete the game's program files, wherever they are.  This folder would have subfolders like __Installer and Data and Delta; this is not the user folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, which holds your saves and other user data.  Delete the folder for the program files, then use Piriform's CCleaner (the free version is fine as well) to remove any leftover registry entries.  The EA App and EABackgroundService need to be stopped while you're working.
