unsupported video card?

just bought my first pc and i bought sims on it and it says it cant support my video card? im a teen with legit no tech skills and no way to contact support. i did the dx thing too. and put it below

  • 576820  You certainly bought quite the first PC.  And you don't have an actual problem here.  Your graphics card is simply too new to be in the game's database, which always lags behind by months or even years.  You can ignore this error, which won't even show up again unless you delete Options.ini, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, or one of the folders it sits in.

I don't see anything wrong in your dxdiag overall either, just some generic Windows setup and update errors that we all get even if we do everything right.

Congratulations on your new PC.  And feel free to ask questions about it or running the game, or about any problem you might encounter.

Hello! Please help me! I'm having the same issue, and actually is causing problems because the game's menu is too small when its on wide screen and it constantly crashes and close or gets really slow..

I have alreayd done everything I saw on another foruns: deleted and reinstalled the game, configured the nvidia to use high performance, updated the nvidia drivers. Heeelp 😥

forgot to mention that I also removed all the mods/cc, and for real I think this error became occurring because of some mods..

  • danidalmeida  The unrecognized video card doesn't cause any actual problems.  If you want the user interface to be larger, Open Options > Game Options > Accessibility and change the UI scale.

For the crashing, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • danidalmeida  Most of the errors in your dxdiag are crashes of the graphics driver, or one of them at least.  So start with a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Nvidia driver, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

Rather than install the newest Nvidia driver, start with version 577.00 (the Game Ready Driver), and update from there if necessary.  But skip the 580.xx versions.  You can find older drivers here:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

If you get another crash, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
