Very high CPU running Sims 4

Same issue here. Nothing else running in the background. I've restarted my game and my computer multiple times. I play for a couple of hours and suddenly my mouse it not tracking when I move it. I check the cpu usage and it's jumping between 37-89% very rapidly. It's only happened in the last couple of weeks so it had to be the recent upgrade. it's extremely frustrating. It makes it so I eventually have to quite playing.
