Game Stuck on previous saved date

My game is consistently going back to an old in game date from when I saved it last. I started the game up to play in which it showed Saturday (in game). After playing through, I saved my game on a Tues (in game) and when I return to play my game the next day my sims are back on that same Saturday I started on. All progress  is gone as if I never played it from my last saved game. I then checked to see if it happens just in game and it does. If I go from one playable sims household to another it reverts back to that same Saturday (in game). Anyone know what would cause this?

    asimm96​  Does this happen if you use "save as" and rename the save?  If so, do you actually see a new save slot when you reload the game, or is that new slot gone and only your previous save (the one stuck on Saturday) is present?

    No, just saving the game like exit and save. So it's the same slot and I have auto save off so that's definitely the only copy of that specific save. Also, say for instance I'm going to the map it usually prompts you to either save or just go to the map so if I hit save it spins as if it saved but when I go to play another household or even return to the household I just played before going to the map it goes back to that same day, same time.
