Visual Setting for Specific Laptop

Good evening~

I'm looking for some technical advice today. I have a pretty good gaming laptop that should work with The Sims 4 on Ultra Settings (and it chooses this option when I first start the game), BUT I also have a huge amount of CC - about 45 GB at this point. I have noticed some FPS drops from time to time, as well as lagging, but not sure whether the problem is with CC specifically (their sheer amount) or just some settings that I can decrease to improve the performance.

I’m looking for visual settings that will let me play the game with all my CC and good quality, but also won’t fry my laptop as if it was left under the open sunlight at 40+ degrees Celsius. To cut a long story short, a balance between visuals and performance. Unfortunately, I am not very good at computer software and similar things, so don’t know what I should choose.

My MSI laptop specs are the following:

CPU: Intel Core i7-9750H.
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with 8GB GDDR6 (refresh rate in the game is currently set to the maximum of 240; if I change it to 60, the game starts lagging more, but the laptop doesn't overheat as much).
Display: 17.3" FHD (1920x1080), 144Hz IPS-Level.
Memory: 16GB DDR4-2666.
Hard Drive: 250GB M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD.

I also have a special cooling platform for my laptop that is working pretty well in combination with its fans.

P.S. I also don't know if some lagging might be caused by the game itself; I remember that the update before Snowy Escape did cause lots of issues for many players, for example.

P.P.S. All CCs are properly merged in 2GB files with Sims4Studio.

@Liudmila-tian How many DLC do you have? You may be lagging because of the CC. Mods help optimize your game faster. CC adds more content and lag to the game. That may be the reason.

@SoyokoAnisI have 4 DLCs. All other things are solely CC (45GB = about 15,000+ items; all merged in 2GB files so not to overload the game). I don't have anything major for the most part, but from time to time the game laggs a bit or the 3rd time speed suddenly changes to the 1st on its own, as if something stops it (the time in the game becomes slower, in other words).

Btw, my friend has almost the same amount of CCs plus all available DLCs, which should put even more pressure on the game, but she experiences only the same small laggings and freezes.
That is why my idea how to fix it is to find the right visual settings. I don't think Ultra High is the right one here because of the amount of heavy CC.

@Liudmila-tianHave you turned on the Laptop Mode option? That is for Laptop's.

@SoyokoAnis No, I haven't. I can't do it, unfortunately, because of CCs. If I turn on the laptop mode, it completely ruins all alpha hair and some other things.

@Liudmila-tian Well, I don't think your laptop can run The Sims 4on Ultra graphics. Try something lower.

@SoyokoAnisoh, yes, it's pretty obvious 🙂 It's a laptop, after all. But I wonder what exactly I should change my settings to. Which parts I can leave on High, and which ones should be changed to Low/completely switched off? I'm looking for a balance between visual presentation and performance.

@Liudmila-tian Hm for now, for CC and Mods it's best to keep at Medium. Ultra is mostly for gaming PC's that can run the full aesthetic of The Sims 4.

@SoyokoAnis I'm currently using the following settings:
Sims - High (because of CC, or I get shiny textures);
Objects - Medium;
Lighting - Medium;
Reflections - Medium;
Visual Effects - Low/Medium (change it from time to time);
Edge Smoothing - Medium;
3D Scene Resolution - Medium;
View Distance - this is the problematic parts: I have recently changed it to low to increase FPS, but it definitely affected the visual part, so I'm not sure I should leave it this way;
Uncompressed Sim Textures - On
Post-processing Effects - On
Laptop Mode - Off (again because of CCs)

Are these good enough? Or is something too high/too low?
