week 2 time travel event not working

I actually got it to work on the painting of the trumpet. I am not in game currently and can’t get actual name. I just clicked “view” on various paintings and that one was the one that finally unlocked it for me. Actually, I did try on the “on the hunt” statuette and it did not unlock it. So I’m wondering if maybe it’s clicking on a certain number of them?

Just an update for yall, after speaking to someone on twitter we realized it only works for 2 objects. The photo 'NO. 46 landscape' and statue 'On the hunt statuette'. Just press view on either of them and wait the whole view time, it should work then!

After I posted here I had other things to do so I had shut down my computer and did them. After about 9 hours I tried again. When I came back, I started the computer and the game, and retried to do the quest. I followed dweaver5's advice and just viewed the art for a while. That completed this part of the quest. I got the shards in the next steps and eventually I was able to make the time machine and complete this weeks quest. Hope this helps others who encountered this problem.

Quick update: I saw in the general discussion that someone with this problem restarted their game and it solved the problem of the task not clearing. I did that and also deleted all my caches just in case before restarting and went back to the Willow Creek museum and although the command still says "View" (and not study history like the prompt says), it did clear the quest after a little bit. I do NOT, however, have a shard in the inventory like the info box says I should.

ETA: I continued the quest and got shards in the next step, so maybe the info box about getting a shard at the museum is wrong.

Same problem with me, I've tried just viewing dozens of times as well as all the fixes you mentioned

I had the same issue, but I clicked to view art with the time traveler on it.  I just hung out for a good few minutes, then it popped up and completed that quest.  The issue now is that the shard that was "added to my sims inventory" isn't there.  So now I cannot complete the next quest
