that seems really confusing, i'm not great at stuff like that. what do i have to do?
you'll see a lot of options for attempts. the attempt I used was Attempt #5 which is also the attempt that worked!
You need to go into Device Management in your PC. From there, you'll want to go to your Network Adapters.
From here, you'll choose the PCIe adapter that you use. It can be one from Realtek, but also one from Intel. In my case, it was labled as an Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V. So I googled on that one rather than the one from my motherboard.
Download the latest drivers, install them for your Ethernet connection, restart PC and try troubleshooting again!
In my case (so far) no problems anymore with lag in B/B mode.

@JeanVW I'm not sure this approach would be any benefit to @abc1381541026, who has an HP laptop that may block the installation of any non-HP-approved drivers. You can see a dxdiag on the laptop here:
I'm about to answer there, but the errors in the dxdiag are mostly system issues that need to be addressed.

I dont know if having an HP laptop affects the way LAN drivers are installed, I'm merely trying to find a solution.

I'm having the same issue lots of people here are having, everything ok during live mode, constant 60fps on ultra settings, then as soon as I go into build mode it drops to about 10fps. When I go back to live mode if I click on the 3 dots to open the menu it goes back to 60fps and continues playing fine.

@JeanVWI'm trying to update my driver too cause i have I219-V from 2015 but I'm not sure what to pick on the Intel website. Do you have any link from where you downloaded yours? ^^When i'm trying to update it refuses to do anything cause it says windows decided I already have the best pilote. :/Managed to do it ! I'll try my game now 🙂
EDIT: alright i updated my ethernet drivers but I still have the same issue. Whenever i join a new household : bad fps, have to quit in the map and reload the household to fix it. At this point it's a game issue, mostly knowing it doesn't happen when I have Eco disabled. :/
Thanks!

So ive been playing for around a steady week now (I've had some time of work to actually sit down and play)... no problems untill tonight. Again, the lag bug persist. I drop down to 5fps as soon as I open build mode, or swap back, and now its every-time I play. Im soooo so so frustrated at this point. I updated my Ethernet drivers 2 weeks ago as @puzzlezaddict suggested, and everything worked perfectly! Untill tonight, so I have no idea why this keeps happening.
Anyone else still having this problem?!

@MadPeachyTV I think I've seen one other report recently, but from someone with a laptop, where updating a LAN driver might not be feasible. I don't think that person has responded yet though.
I hope this isn't the same issue as before, because the fix was such a relief to see. It's certainly possible there's something else going on with your computer. If you want to double-check for errors, please run another dxdiag and attach it to a post.
