What computer is best for the Sims 4 including packs, mods, and cc?

Hey!

Long time simmer living in Finland, Europe, and after 4 years with a slow-ish computer, decided to start looking in for a new one. One actually meant for playing games :D

Haven't been able to use mods for a while bc of the glitching and slow run. About a year now. And now the computer starts to glitch out after 2-3 hours of playing, which means a restart of the game. This was a hard place to start looking in for computers because I lost contact with a family friend who was computer-savvy and always there to help.

Okay so I'm looking for a gaming computer, that's easy for beginners (no need to resemble), under 1 500€, hopefully around the 1 000€ but girl can't be picky. Also I don't want to order overseas, but to buy from a store. There are some good tech companies in Finland but options are limited. Also possible to order inside Finland.

I do not know really what I need per se as for processing power and graphics perspective, but I do know I need the help that I can get from fellow simmers.

These years I've been clocking about the 2 600th hour at this game and starting to feel the need for an upgrade :D

I need to collect half of the money upfront and will get the rest as an investment from my bf so this search and collection can take a while, but I'll be messaging as much as I can <3

Thanks to everyone who will help me! Everyone is so sweet here and most certainly other gamer help will be great!

PS. Planning other games too for bf like battle games or such so that could be something to keep in mind when advising.

  • @JoBing1689  I'd be happy to help you pick something out when you're ready to buy.  Feel free to link the stores where you're willing to shop; the language barrier isn't really a problem.  I would however like to wait until you're actually going to buy something to search the sites—prices and inventory can change quickly, and there's no point in my recommending something that will be 200€ more expensive, or not available at all, by the time you're ready.

If you'd like me to list the hardware to look for so you can do your own shopping, that's fine too.  Just let me know.

I don't think you need to spend 1500€, although it's been a while since I checked prices in Finland.  1000€ is doable, maybe 1200€ if you want a bit of an upgrade over the basic gaming PC.  I can take a quick look around if you like.

  • JoBing1689  Sorry for the late-ish reply.  Do you want specific recommendations, or a list of components to look for in doing your own shopping?  And are you ready to buy now, or would you prefer to wait until the money has actually arrived, if it hasn't yet?

If you'd like suggestions for what to buy, please link me the websites for any stores where you'd be willing to shop.  I don't know what's trustworthy in Finland overall, let alone what meets your standards.  The language barrier isn't a problem since the important details are easy to pick out.

If you're not ready to buy yet, I can still list what hardware to consider when making a purchase.  But it would be better to wait to choose a specific computer until you're about to make the purchase because prices and stock can change very quickly.  The "best" system right now might cost 200€ more in a couple weeks, and meanwhile there might be something new or newly on sale that's cheaper or better.

Hey! Money is coming my way finally and will be able to buy new gaming PC at last next month or so. Need badly recommendations that will run the game smoothly with cc and mods like wonderful whims. I have 1 600€ soft limit for the computer, love if it won't be that much over.

I live in Finland Europe and hope to find PC from my country in a store like Power or Verkkokauppa. Gigantti is DEFINETLY NO.

    Waiting to hear your thoughts!

I had a setback with my money situation. I understood my boyfriend wrong. He'll be able to borrow about 200€ for the rest of the savings. I'm having a really expensive med started presently and it's a whole rumba getting enough savings like this. So the timeline will end up around springtime.  Sorry for stringing you along with this until then, if you have the time to help me. I'm really grateful for all of your help! Sincerely!

I would really like to learn about computer hardware and how it affects gameplay 🙂 So I'll be getting back to you when know more of the specific timeline (no Christmas this year for me, but it's okay) by the spring side of the year 2025 :D Have a lovely rest of the year,  wonderful holidays, and a terrific New years and happy simming until then !!!

    Thank you !

@JoBing1689  That timeline is fine, and if you'd like to come back to start the hardware conversation a week before the sales begin, that works too.  I do love talking about hardware.  And I also think it's great for people to learn what it is they're buying, if they have the time and motivation to do so.

Helping with the shopping when the time is right by the funding view may be the best, that's true :D

I would like to learn about computers that will be sufficient enough for the whole game content (I have all packs and kits). I like knowing things like this so I'll be able to talk about the buying decision with my boyfriend. If it's okay with you, I would like to learn about the properties a computer needs to have for optimal gameplay beforehand and I will contact you again when money is available.  How does that sound?

I live on a tight budget already as money comes from social support services and they don't give much spare. I have some small opportunities to get money and that will take a while, but I've mastered the skill of getting money puff from a thin air XD If I do optimal savings it most likely be Christmas time when ready. And then they sell fast as a fox here too :D

Let me know if this timeline would be doable 🙂
