Why do I have to sign-in to Origin to play Sims 4?

I have played this game over a dozen times now, and each time I try to just play the game, I'm forced to sign into origin.  Why is that?  I was told by phone that after a couple of plays I wouldn't have to sign in any more.  It's really becoming annoying.  Anyone know of a fix for this?  Thanks.

Mike

  • I agree!! I ALSO had to sign in just to say I AGREE!  It's supposed to be an offline game. ☹️

@Shareallicu  @mastermikeda1   As SecuROM and Safedisc are no longer supported by Microsoft Windows operating system and Apple OSX, EA requires users of this game to use the DRM of Origin. BTW activating this game in Origin is a stated requirement. SecuROM was poorly supported and sometimes conflicted with other software.

  • I can understand the first time you play, to have to sign into Origin, but every time I want to play is ridiculous!  It's an offline game with online options.  I like to play Sims 4 when my internet goes down, but I can't because of this...  I miss the days when an offline game was an offline game.   I don't know if I would have bought Sims 4 knowing it required internet connection to play.  I won't be buying any more DLC's knowing this.  I have offline games that are truly offline I would rather invest in for the days my internet is down.

    Hey there.

Since this was a super old post that wasn't updated in several years I have gone ahead and locked this thread.

If you need some help with an issue like this please create a new thread, and we can take a look. Thanks!
