Why Sims? WHY!?

Is anyone else having trouble with the game automatically closing when switching between houses, exiting CAS, or simply loading a game?
Seriously, I try to be very patient, but it's amazing that heavier, more elaborate games don't have these kinds of problems and are a thousand times cheaper.

I'm sorry, but this time I'm really upset.
