Why won’t my sims 4 open by origin on windows 7?

So my computer recently broke and I found my old one. My old computer is windows 7 and I wanted to download the sims on it, once I eventually downloaded origin I downloaded the sims and all my packs but when I  went to open it, it didn’t work and it just waited for a minute and then took me back to origin I have tried reinstalling the sims 4 but it hasn’t worked. I have tried lot of other things from other threads but it hasn’t worked also whenever I reinstall it it doesn’t make and folders like the ones on windows 10 eg  Sims 4, Electronic Arts and Mods I just can’t seem to fix this on my own, please help me I have spent a lot of money on sims4 and I need help?

Sincerely,

Worried Sims Player

  • @kathrynlo  The Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts isn't created until the game loads for the first time.  So it's no surprise that you don't see it.  There wouldn't be an Electronic Arts folder either unless you'd successfully launched a game that uses it, e.g. Sims 3.

For the issue itself, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Please also look for relevant entries in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes.  You'll see a list of errors and updates, with a column for each day.  (Today is all the way on the right.)

For any errors that happened after you installed and tried to open Sims 4, click "View technical details," then copy the information and paste it into a text document.  (Notepad is fine.)  You can attach the file to a post as well.  Sometimes the Reliability Monitor doesn't update right away, so if you don't see any related errors, be sure to check back an hour or two.  The timestamp on the initial chart can also be off by up to an hour, so that's not an entirely reliable metric, but the one within the technical details should be accurate.

@kathrynlo  You don't need to contact EA help.  Just run the dxdiag, as described in the article, and attach it to a reply in this thread.

Please also attach the Reliability Monitor info, since a Windows 7 dxdiag doesn't list that data.

@marianaqa  I'm sorry to say it, but I don't know how to fix this issue.  In the time since the original poster asked, a number of other people have reported the same error in the same OS as you have, and so far, nothing has helped.  I've asked around if anyone else has other ideas, but so far, there aren't any viable approaches.
