Cannot redeem the product code for Sims Medieval

Hi, I have a copy of Sims Medieval on disc. I have just tried to redeem the product code on origin, but I keep getting this error message:

We're sorry, this code cannot be redeemed here. Please redeem your code at the following site: https://www.thesims3.com/myAccount.html.

I entered my code there, even though it seemed wrong because the website is for a different game, and got told I had sucessfully registered my Sims 3 game, and had bonus content. No idea why origin won't accept my product code, but I would appreciate any help. I have sucessfully redeemed the product codes for a few of my Sims 3 expansion packs today, so I don't think it's a system error, more just an error with my code.

Hi, I'm having the same problem, but Sims 3 won't accept my code and I don't understand how that lets you re-install Sims Medieval anyway. I had the following problem:

     - Sims Medieval gets stuck because of the 2.0 patch for Windows 8 (lots of problems there I know).

     - EA says to re-download through Origin, so downloaded and installed Origin.

     - Origin says to redeem the code through Sims 3, so created a Sims 3 account.

     - Sims 3 says code is invalid.

Now I'm stuck, have played 3 long games previously before the stupid updates installed and lost them when having to re-install, and I don't want to simply replay the tutorial over and over again and then lose the game each time.

@TokeHackChoke Hey, I can see the game added to your Origin account, does it work there, or do you see the same behaviour you see on Steam?

I take it that you're using the product code ending in -CL6S?

Please don't post any codes publicly, btw.

    Thank you.

@EA_David Yes it is that code, yes it still will not work on Origin. Besides, I would rather play on Steam, as that is where my purchase was made. It is getting on 24 hours of not being able to use a product I have already purchased, and I am starting to really wonder why so many people are getting faulty activation codes when purchasing a product that should be new and unused, as digital products should be, yes?

I'm having the same problem (can't play it in Windows 10, and need to re-download it) - I registered it on sims3.com, but can't find any trace of it in my account there or at Origin.  I didn't get an email for it either.  I have a valid code from the physical version of the game.

Edit: Alright, my bad - when I restarted the Origin desktop client it was on there, and un-installing and re-installing the game through that appears to have fixed the problem.  Thanks to anyone who may have read it!

  • I have the same problem. Running windows 10.

I have the CD version of the game which does download, but the launcher won't even open.

I tried registering the game on origin and got sent to the sims 3 site.

I entered the code there, and it just said my code was invalid.

@AmberHartz , you'll need to contact EA Help to have the game added to your Origin account. You'll need to provide proof you own the game on CD/DVD, provide your original game code (usually a photo of your code will do) and they can add the game to your Origin account.
