Sims 1 + 2 Not Working, Parallels [Mac] ONLY

I can play sims 1 but not Sims 2 

Yes I am having the same issue with Sims 1, using parallels on Mac. Like you mentioned, that shouldn’t be an issue. I have the game installed, but it doesn’t launch. 

musicfightclub14 Uncookedfern 2hnjhe22uvnz ianwogorman  Have any of you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your newest VC++ runtimes?  If not, please try it.  Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, and uninstall everything from 2015 and newer.  Don't touch the older versions.

Download the x86 and x64 versions (not the ARM version) of the 2022 runtimes from Microsoft:

Install them, restart the virtual machine (a proper restart; don't just quit Parallels), and try again to play.

I don't actually know whether Sims 1 will run in Parallels, but this is what helped most players running Windows natively, so it's worth a shot.

Completed these steps, no change - app still does not launch.

ianwogorman  Thanks for letting me know, and too bad it didn't work.  I'm not sure there's a way around this, but if I see anything about Sims 1 actually running in Parallels, I'll post back.

I had this same issue, but just with Sims 1 Legacy. The Sims 2 worked perfectly. I had to ask for a refund for The Sims 1 Legacy because it wasn't working on my Parallels ARM Virtual Machine on my Mac. Hopeful they fix the issue.
