Can’t we buy Sim Chase items from the store if we lose the event?

I have been playing The Sims FreePlay ever since it first came out 12 years ago and I have been grinding endlessly to get that kitty cafe just so I can unlock the Calico cat and yet no matter how hard I try, the Chaser in the event beats me to the prizes!

Can’t EA/Firemonkeys just let us have an option to purchase the items from the game store if we lose? Even if it means us purchasing through Simoleons or points or even real life cash from our cards, I wouldn’t care, I would just be happy that we finally get a chance.

There’s hardly a choice with breeds from the in game pet store, you only get a few, why can’t we buy the Calico cat as well?
