Clover Cottage task

I’m on level 9 of the clover cottage. I can’t figure out the task of 9 sims to “look for life” the dead tree that was at this site disappeared and my sims can’t get to the other trees. What do I need to do to accomplish this task?

    You don’t have to use the items that are there. (There are very few exceptions.) You can place trees and other items from your inventory or from home store.
    If possible take some with 3 stars.
