Why did some players get a new influence island and others didn’t?

Influence Island Season 66 “Currency Heist” is a rerun. Like all reruns it showed up in the upcoming events list for everyone, but for players who completed it while a former update they simply disappeared.
I never got to complete the last one because I was locked out of the game for 2 weeks due to an update bug. This will be the second one they are stealing from me.
If you weren’t able to complete this event last year in June (Make a Splash Update) and still didn’t get it now, you may need help from online support.
