Simoleans not accumulating

Since the recent update, simoleans are being deducted instead of earned. Unable to earn from allowance, work, or at the market etc.

I have not used any cheats, but I did sell some items that were originally purchased with social points. Could this be causing a cheat glitch?

I've tried clearing the cache, it didn't help.
