Sims Freeplay: secret winter wonderland quest day12 can't reach queen

Merry Chritmas!

I'm on the 2nd last task of the secret winter wonderland quest day 12 but I cannot get to the ice queen to thank her!  She i standing next to the snow man and facing the other side so my sim cannot reach her.  

I've tried making the sim leave and close the game and my iPad numerous times but her position remains unchanged. 

Please help.   It's such a shame that I could have completed this on time but cannot cause of this issue.

    Hi, I haven't bothered completing this quest yet even though more than likely I ran out of time but what I suggest is restarting your device, send your sims home, or if all else fails contact EA. I hope this helps you and you can successfully unlock the gingerbread house today!

    I have completed this quest but did not receive the gingerbread house.  When I load my game it's still snowing and my task screen tells me to wait for Day 12.  "Come back to the Ice Palace in 0 mins 0 secs hours.  The Ice Queen has a special surprise for your Sims!

    Well, when I go back to the Winter Palace via the fridge, there is no Ice Queen.  My sims are still freezing, it's still snowing and I would like the quest / task to go away.

    Can anyone help me?  I have tried deleting the game and reinstalling it.  I have tried uploading my data to the cloud.  I have rebooted my device several times and nothing changes.
