Sims freeplay update broken

Sims Freeplay on an iPad just tried to update itself. It claims the device is full and needs 945MB of free space. The iPad has 950 GB of free space.

Updates on an iPhone fail with a "connection problem".

The game has become useless.

  • I’m having the same issue. My phone has 47 GB of free space, but I’m getting a “device full” message when the app only needs a few hundred MB.

Megan was able to get past it, mostly by actively shutting down all apps. She deleted some apps on both her phone and the iPad and was eventually able to get it to update on both. The iPad update kept losing the network connection (so it claimed) but persistent retrying eventually got past it.

That points to something really goofed up with the update. Maybe it can't handle that much free space and has an overflow or something? I'm just guessing here.

  • I just tried turning off Wi-Fi and was able to successfully update through (not recommended) Cellular.
