Update on Kindle Fire won't load

Trying to download update for Sims Freeplay to Kindle Fire HD and it stops at 3% (19 MB of 508 MB) with an error. I've tried uninstalling, shut down, re-installing, but still get the same error. "Progress has been saved. Reconnect then relaunch app to continue download." Any ideas as to how to resolve the issue?
