I was playing sims mobile and notice at the science lab there was a sewer on the side of the building and it has flashing lights but when I look closer it was eyes and when I clicked on it it said talk to the ancient one I just wanted to know if anyone knew what that was or if it was something that we needed to interact with.

Yep. If you cycle through the options, you get one for "release the ancient one", but nothing happens. Huge letdown.
It's a quest! But I don't know how to start it?

It's not an action in the wellness center or science lab careers. Maybe it'll be in the astronaut career? or maybe it's just a random thing. It would be cool if it did something other than blink its' eyes.

You mean the one about doing an event with an elder? An elder is just a retired sim. Click on your retired sim that has a family event icon above their head. You should have either a hobby mentoring or career mentoring option.
@dancerlma454 Look at the grate near the rocket career.
The ancient one might be Grim. Some people are reporting Grim is showing up on their list of sims to do actions with. They took Grim out of the game . Don't know if this is a bug or are they adding grim back?

I know about the grate. It's been there since the waterfront update before people started reporting the grim bug. I was just saying that it's not a career action (an action to do while working) for the wellness center or science lab. I do think the ancient one is a sea creature (maybe from outer space). The whole wellness center career story is about finding out what makes the water at the waterfront special and the last step of the science career is become a marine cryptobiologist. I know that a cryptozoologist is someone who studies mysterious/mythical creatures like Bigfoot, the chupacabra, and the lochness monster.
@dancerlma454 I never noticed it. Since this is a dumbed down version of the sims 4, I googled the ancient one and sims 4. One of the first things that comes up is vampires Hmmmm. Does it have to do with a career or a hint they are going to add vampires?
