My Internet connection is horrendously poor. This is in no way restricted to this game, its just a fact of life. And therefore, since this game needs a continuous connection, I am often unable to play as I constantly see the screen shown. Some days its mostly fine, but other days it is impossible to access for more than a few minutes a day.I realise this is by design, but it would be so much better for us people who have poor connection if there was an off-line mode. Seriously, why isn't there? Why does the connection need to be constant? Having the option to click save at times when I have a stronger connection would make a huge impact. It also means that I can continue playing on my tablet when I'm out and about rather than being confined to home.

@sindidoll, I want an offline mode too! It would make playing so much easier, I think.

@sindidoll I oftened wondered why we have to be online all the time too. I suspect they would lose add revenue for one thing and the other thing probably has to do with our games being stored in the cloud. However, being online all the time hasn't always helped with our game saves either. Tech companies like us being connected to them is probably the main reason...who really knows...😐😉

I didnt say anything about being logged in, just constant online mode. Saving the game every couple of seconds isnt good. I would benefit much more, without loosing significant amounts if it saved, for example every 5 minutes.This is not in any way an app version of the sims 4. I have played sims 4 since its release and the games are not comparable, in any way other than the look of the sims.Also I do feel that it is possible to save in the app, especially if that save could be stored on the external SD card. But thats half the issue with phones and tablets these days is the only thing companies allow to be stored on the external are photos or music, and the entire internal memory is used up with system apps and 1 or 2 additional ones, slowing down the system and leaving the external completely empty, but internal completely full. Regardless, although I certainly would think that would solve my problem, it is not what I am speaking of here. Just the ability for me to hit save myself instead of a continuous need for connection every few seconds. Or for the auto save to be less frequent so that I do not get this screen above all day/night.

Ohmigosh, yes! Even if it just synched slightly less often, that would take a lot of the annoyance out of the game. I get constantly disconnected sometimes, like log in, play for five seconds, OOPS DISCONNECTED. Every other game is fine, I only have issues with Sims Mobile.

@AbigailHawk I wish it was like Freeplay...Save? - Ok...Exit? - Are you sure? - Ok. If nothing else, I would feel better. ☺😉

@PaQuilter1: Yeah, that's the one! It keeps freaking me out. I'm severely tokophobic, my sims are NEVER allowed to be pregnant. Thank goodness for the adoption options!

And last I heard, the app is also banned in several countries, seven to be exact. And for those who still have it, can no longer receive any updates on the app.

@AbigailHawk @PaQuilter1 Freeplay is only being shut down in some countries. Arab countries and China. I don't know @terogamusaudiHaz if it's being banned in those countries or they are no longer selling it. It could have to do with politics , tax tariffs issue or the new pregnancy feature for unmarried sims . They are not stopping freeplay overall

Ahhh. So it's more of a "no longer being supported" rather than "actively discontinued" sort of thing - like an old edition of Windows. You can't buy it anymore, but if you already have it you can keep using it.

@AbigailHawk For the people in Arab countries and China, if they already have the game installed, they can still play freeplay but they won't get updates. Should they uninstall the game , they will not be able to reinstall it. There will be no new installs of the game in Arab countries or China

@AbigailHawk it could have to do with non married sims being able to have babies and the religious beliefs in those countries. Don't quote me on that but it might be the reason. Being that EA just added this feature , I don't think they will be closing freeplay soon for all players

It makes sense. There are strict censorship laws some parts of the Middle East and China. I'm actually kind of surprised the game was allowed there before.

Yeah, it is (about the ban) @Fuzzernutter. You guys can read all about it here: The Sims FreePlay - No longer available in certain storefronts after July 5th.
Kinda related to the topic, does freeplay also used the always online method? I can’t quite remember but I used to have it, long ago, only for a day or so, I think.
I might be interested in downloading again, if we can play the app while being offline.

@terogamusaudiHaz I think you have to be online but my understanding is that the save function is different than SM. It is a resource hog though. I've never had a problem with it but others have complained about it. ☺
