Move in request not answered

Hello,

I have some questions about the moving in process for other players’ sims. I married one and have an empty slot in my household and I asked the sim to move in, so the request is sent.

The problem is that that particular player was last online 52 days ago according to my friend list. (The friend invitation is also pending) So what happens if he/she doesn’t respond to my request? Is there a time limit? Will I be waiting with an empty slot for a while?

I would guess if the request is unanswered, the sim cannot move in but will I get a notification?

Thanks in advance 🙂

@bubirsaka My understanding is that there are no notifications. This part of the game needs a serious overhaul. 😟😕

  • I've had this issue as well. Eventually the player came online and gave me the Sim. However the male she was in love with in my household was already retired. She followed soon after.

Thank you! (Btw, yeah no joke about that, there are things that could use some upgrades :D)
  • I agree, the requesting system needs a bit of help. For example, if you ask an elder made by another player to move in, the game will duly send off a move-in request. But because the elder is no longer under their direct control, they don't actually get the request and it goes into the "dead letter office." The only way I realized that was by talking to a friend during a party to try to figure out if she had changed her mind about letting our sims marry off (and seriously, why are parties the only in-game way to talk to people? If we can send move-in requests, wouldn't an option to send them a message be equally useful?). If we can cancel a friend request, why can't we also cancel a move-in request that goes unanswered by an inactive player?

  • Follow-up to this scenario: I made a move-in request from another player who was willing to let me have her sim. The request went unanswered even though the player was active. I found out (via party chat) that the player did not get the request. I can’t cancel or re-send it. So even though we mutually would like to trade Sims, now we can’t, and the only reason we even know we can’t is because of a chance meeting at a weekly event.

I would love it if the next update could be an overhaul to how this system is implemented in game. That cell phone that our Sims perpetually playing with? Make it functional, and allow us to send individual messages to people in our contacts. It would be a LOT easier than what’s going on right now.
