NPCs I had given a makeover are now old and grey. Why?

unfortunately NPC townies turn old and grey if you don't have a relationship with them. It takes about 10-14 days. So to keep the townies fresh, make friends with them and level the friendship up a bit. Warning though, if you complete the relationship to level 10, the townies will then turn grey.  I have lot of level 1 friendships with townies to keep them from getting old and grey.

Townies I have a currently ongoing relationship with have turned grey and gone hunch back. Even though the relationship is only half way through
