This just happened to me. One of my active sims had a date with one of my passive sims (Michaela Felix). But then the passive sim suddenly disappeared. She's not in any family portraits and any relationships with her disappeared.

Now has happened twice for me. I’m all for the soap opera wandering off with amnesia story, but they really ought to make it a proper story line, with activities and such. Or fix it so they don’t disappear.
