Progress past level 1 or the quest 'One Room to Go"

I am playing Sims Mobile but i can't hit the X button to accept the quest for "One Room to Go" i don't have access to anything besides moving my Sim from on location to the other on the lot. I tried ...

    Thanks! Try disabling the notch on your phone: 

    1. First enable Developer Mode on your device. Tap on Settings > System > Advanced > About Phone.
    2. Tap on Build Number seven times.  
    3. A new Develop Options menu will now appear in the Settings Menu. Tap on Developer Options.
    4. Scroll down and look for Display Cutout under the Drawing heading
    5. Tick the hide checkbox

    After that is done try loading the game again and check if you can get past that step.
