Low ping to data center, high ping in-game?
Since launch I have been getting extremely high pings in game (usually 100-150ms). I live in Southern California and my ping to the West US datacenter is 33ms. I play with friends who live in Northern California and their pings are 20-40ms at the highest, yet in the very same game my ping is usually around 120ms. Why is there such a huge variation between our pings when we are relatively close to each other?
I have Verizon FIOS (150/65mbps) and my ping is usually fantastic in every other multiplayer game but for some odd reason I can't get into a Titanfall server with a ping lower then 100ms. It's really frustrating playing with friends who are less then 5 hours away from me yet their pings are 80ms less than mine. During the beta my ping was phenomenal but the latency has been a huge nightmare since the launch of the game.
Anyone else getting a low ping to the datacenter but a high ping in game?
Things I have tried:
1). Reinstalling the game (This seemed like a fools errand but I figured what the hell, might as well give it a shot).
2). Port Forwarding (Opened ports TCP/HTTP: 443; 25000-25099; 30000 – 30099 UDP: 8125; 25000-25099; 30000 – 30099)
I really haven't enjoyed the Titanfall like I did during the beta because of my issues with latency. I can deal with the lack of multi-gpu support but this issue is an absolute game breaker for me. Hopefully this issue is resolved, I can't play this game in the current state it is in.
Yesterday I made a post on reddit and have found other users with the exact same issue (Thread can be found here).
