You dont "lose" a donut if your second pick is a lower number. You always keep the higest amount you pick. If you get 2 first, then 1 the second time, you still get 2.

yeah but you're paying $100,000 for 1 more donut, which is totally not worth it at a higher % multiplier.

i'm going through a phase of not spending any more money on my donut choice as i need more money, i'm building 120 KEM every 4 hours and not actually making much money yet! lol. do have 350 donuts from the last few days though, so that's good. need quite a bit more for the 4th july mystery box! can't wait :D

I did a bunch of math on the 9 possible repick strategies and found that are only 3 that make sense. Which strategy to use depends on how much it costs to get the bonus box (e.g. if you are KEM farming, how much do you spend on KEMs to get 1 million XP?).

If you spend $150,000 or more on one bonus box, you should always go to 3 donuts.

If you spend $75,000 or less on one bonus box, you should never repick, just take what you get on the first try.

If you spend between $75,000 and $150,000, you should follow the above strategy. If the first pick is 2 or 3 donuts don't repick. If the first pick is one donut, repick until you get 3.

I always pick until I get 3 donuts and get 21 donuts per round with a multiplier of ~860%. I have 64 KEMs in my farm. My IGC still goes up, about 1 million per week, unless I use it to buy land or something else expensive. If your IGC is dropping, your multiplier is too low for the amount of KEMs you are farming. My advice is to plant fewer KEMs until you can get your multiplier higher.

We are in almost the exact same position. My multiplier is just under 860% but I only farm 50 KEM. This gives me 15 donuts per round. I also make around a million dollars a day.

If the bonus box is cheap, then it's more economical to spend your money on more bonus boxes, rather than paying to repick.

Example: Suppose I have a really high bonus percent and on average every $20,000 I spend on KEMs earns the 1,000,000 XP needed for a bonus box. If my first pick gives me 1 donut, why would I spend $50,000 trying to get an additional donut or 2. A better plan would be to spend that $50,000 or $100,000 on more KEMs to get more bonus boxes. (On average you should get 2 donuts per bonus box without repicking.)

On the flip side if my bonus percent is really low, it will take a lot of money buying KEMs to earn a bonus box. Let's say I have to spend $300,000 on KEMs to get 1,000,000 XP. If I get 1 donut on my first pick, it makes financial sense to spend $50,000 or even $100,000 to get three donuts from that bonus box, rather than saving the money for more KEMs.

If people are interested, I can post the math for review, but it will have to wait until after I get home from work.

I personally always go for the 3 donuts option, I fully understand the math that it's better to use the money for more KEM but I've got to a point where I simply don't care about the cost involved as I've been making cash so long I'm not sure if I'll ever manage to spend it.

I see what you're saying, although with the $50,000 bonus boxes at level 939 it seems like it's possible to just spend the $50,000 or $100,000 and also continue your normal KEM farming, assuming your KEM farm isn't eating up all your cash and you are able to do both. The exception would be if your multiplier is so huge that the cost of the additional KEMs gets you so many bonus boxes that it outweighs the increased cost of each KEM.

At my bonus level of approx. 350%, it takes 18 KEMs to earn 1,000,000 XP. This would cost me $259,200 at $14,400 per KEM, with the high cost happening since my normal KEM farm is always ongoing. At $259,200 for additional bonus boxes, the $50,000 or $100,000 would seem to be the cheaper option.

That is exactly right. Your bonus box costs enough that it makes sense to spend the money repicking. The only thing I do a bit different is that I don't look at the money in terms of additional KEMS, but rather in terms of using for my on going KEM farm. I currently farm 54 KEMs at a time, so I calculate the cost based on buying those 54 (using the $220-$14400 scale). It's a bit more work and a bit more accurate, but that's really just the math nerd coming out.

This is my logic as well. While I do appreciate that some people enjoy working these things out to the Nth degree, too much math just makes my head hurt. As long as my cash is still accumulating and I have plenty of donuts to spend, I don't care if I could have saved some IGC by not going for that 3rd donut box. My only real problems are finding enough land to place everything that I have been buying and hitting the item limit eventually. :/
