Personally I agree with the OP but for different reasons.
I think people would get very annoyed with the monorail getting in the way just like Arnie in his chopper or the alien flying around.
I do think that Lionel Hutz etc should be released as a mark of respect.
Although, I do agree about it being used once, it would end up in storage for most.
I agree with your agreeing for different reasons!
I agree the monorail is iconic, and as a completionist I would need to have it. But I don't really want it in my town. Anything less than a fully functional monorail wouldn't do it justice. If EA sticks to the story line, it would just be decoration at the end of the quest line. So we'd have one more big eyesore like the escalator or toothpick tower that takes up a lot of space and ends up in my inventory.
Oh, and for the amount of revenue this game generates for EA, I think the need to do whatever's necessary to bring Phil Hartman's characters into the game VOICED.- I want the monorail I think it should be in krustyland
- As far as I know, the monorail has nothing to do with KL, so why should be placed there? In any case EA could perhap make it choice for the players, where they will place it, as long as the characters using the monorail in the quest, has access to KL.
- I think monorail would be cool. And for the people that don't like it it's easy don't buy it

I only suggested it be in kl because people where complaint that they don't want the monorail so I suggested it to be in there to keep people happyjadie_baby18 wrote:

I swear some people in this forum are so bloody odd :?
Completely agree.
It'd also be possible to allow a complete Monorail track to be built, but have it become see-through when it's over buildings/characters/decorations centered on the screen.
The see through effect is already in the game (when moving items its possible to make buildings and decorations see through for placement of items behind those items), so it should be simple to apply that to the Monorail, with some minor reprogramming to apply the see-through effect when moving over it. When it's to the side, top, bottom, or corner of the screen it'd be regularly visible.
Personally I just prefer they make the station and allow for placement of random, broken pieces of the track, since it only survived until the end of the episode anyway.
Also, to those who don't want to have the Monorail in their town, why deprive those who do want it (not that you control the content, but you know what I mean). It's entirely possible NOT to buy or place the Monorail if it's released. That way everyone gets what they want. Once again, it's a compromise. Come on folks, use a little imagination, there are a variety of ways they could viably implement it into the game.jacobjdevore wrote:

Here's my $.02, fwiw:
Instead of pre-emptively whining about as-yet non-existant content, perhaps it would be more constructive --sensible too, maybe? no, nevermind..-- to urge EA to bring us content that functions well within the existing framework of the game. Don't just shoot down an entire (and iconic) component of The Simpsons' universe because you think it'll upset your town's feng shui.
Despite the "I'm-Afraid-Of-EA's-Monorail Threads," the vast majority of millions players will appreciate and find a way to work with whatever content comes down the pipe, as usual, and the world probably won't end. js.
Happy Tapping!
Everyone on the forums should read (and apply) the advice given in this post. Well done, good sir. Were I the Queen of England, I would thereby knight thee.strmanglr wrote:

This is what I've been saying. There is very little in kl and is the perfect accompiant to a theme park.
While I agree Krustyland needs more rides/content, the monorail everyone wants was in Springfield, not Krustyland (though I do think KL has a monorail of its own, a la Disneyland). So maybe they could do it for both, perhaps with a slightly different paint job between the two.- i've made a thread like this before and my reasons against it are very similar..
to be true to the Simpsons it has to be a disaster i can't have a working monorail in my town because I'm a old school Simpsons fan and that would annoy me.
besides that if it actually came out and was more then a broken monorail station with a bit of track it would take a lot of room to implement.. i don't want it to be blocking the view of other buildings. besides they would need to bring a lot of land with it which they haven't done in a few months at least.
then there's the matter of how it would be built.. would it be similar to the roads exceptt have a price for each section or similar to the squid port (but modified to not take months to build)
about not releasing the character to not disrespect phil hartman in 2002 they brought out talking Lionel hutz toys i doubt they are not releasing characters out of respect when they brought that toy out. DIrishBdo wrote:

I think this would be the best thing to do with the monorail. Along with adding Lyle as a character, assuming the ended up getting Hartman's voice in the game.jacobjdevore wrote:

nothing wrong with people making threads about potential new content especially when they hinted about it in the game. It's a forum a place for opinions feedback etc that developers will occasional come into and view, the OP's opinion of the monorail is shared by a lot of people.
honestly i see more whining on here from people that don't want the forum used to express opinions and suggestions on future content
