Accidental dialogue skipping.
I do this often as well. If you close out of the game the dialog should restart when you go back in.

It's not a huge problem but i'd welcome a "back" button or a place in the game where you can read all completed dialogue.
I think someone else mentioned it, but go the the Tapped Out Wiki. They have all the dialogue for all the quests on there. Not sure if they have everything from the July 4th stuff yet, but it will be added soon, I'm sure.
