- Thank you both!
So, if I find a neighbor's characters routinely just wandering, that might be a good indication that they don't play very consistently? - I know IOs version you can go in to the origin settings and your friends list there and see when the last time a player played the game..this is a better indicator than Folks walking around.
But yes I would surmise if they always have all their Springfieldians wandering around with no tasks then they prolly dont play often.. - I play every day, but most of my characters just wonder, I only task them if a quest requires it or to get more Krustyland tickets. Once you reach a certain point in the game you don't really need the cash they produce from tasks, so its not worth the effort to tediously keep them busy 24 hours a day. I spend my time tweaking my town layout and tapping neighbors.
- Thank you. It's good to know that people could be playing, but not putting their characters to work. :)
- When it's around update time, I deliberately keep all my characters free so that they can be assigned to the holiday quests right when they pop up.
- I've been playing for more than a year now and I'm just sick of putting all my characters on jobs every day so I just put the ones on jobs that the game tells me to and leave the rest. I have close to 6million in money with 66% bonus so I don't need to earn money on tasks.
- Indys2ndRetired HeroFor me, it's a mixture of both. If an update is coming, I make sure not to task anyone because I don't know who's going to trigger the quest line in the next update. Otherwise, if there is no update, I still may not always task people. I have all the land and such. So I no longer need the money they bring in. I task them whenever I feel like it, if I feel like it.
Also, if you task a character and the timer runs out, your neighbors would see them not doing anything. When you check in, however, you see them with a thumb up over their head when you open the game.
And origin isn't always correct. I know of at least two people that haven't played in awhile that origin shows they have checked in. (I believe the log in here would trigger it.) And I know that others do not show they have logged in and yet the characters are always busy doing stuff, so you can't go by that. - I also am only getting people to work when they are given a task to complete.
Nothing more annoying then being given a task for a character you just set a 24 hour task on. hipmama197190 wrote:
as I have money coming out my ears ( like many max leved towns) I leave my characters idle so if I know an update is coming all the characters are free to trigger the event/update. If I know there won't be an update for a wile I'll put the characters on out door tasks only. So it looks more interesting for my neighbours
In many of my neighbors' towns, I find their characters busily doing all their little jobs. But sometimes when I visit, everyone is just wandering aimlessly. Does this mean that they were left with no tasks to do? Or does this mean it's been a long time since the player checked in?
It seems to be the people whose towns seem otherwise neglected as well, which is what caused me to wonder.HWick_Bluenose wrote:
You know what would be useful - if a town started to be overrun with weeds and plants and building started to fall apart if the town hasn't been attended to for a while, say 2 weeks. The town gradually turning to dust with wild animals everywhere.......
I love this.
